Prime Minister addresses launch of National Productivity Report
Prime Minister Robert Abela told a business breakfast during the launch of the National Productivity Report that progress “cannot come at the cost of human lives”.
The National Productivity Board in Malta falls under the remit of the Malta Council for Economic & Social Development (MCESD).
The report delves into Malta’s competitiveness and research and innovation structures, noting that both are key for the continued progress of the economy. The report also recommends the need for improved education in the human capital department, and looks into infrastructure investment management to ensure its sustainability as well.
Minister within the Office of the Prime Minister Carmelo Abela, who is responsible for sustainable development, was also present for the launch
He said that the country needs to continue to address and improve quality of life and the strength of an individual’s pay, while also ensuring that workers have equal opportunities on the work place.
